Where is your office?
My office is easy to find and easy to get to from anywhere in the Greater New Orleans area, even if you’re coming from the North Shore.
The building is called the “Executive Tower.” Although the address is N. Causeway, we are located at the end of Melvil Dewey Drive, and there is plenty of free visitor parking surrounding the building.
3500 N. Causeway Blvd. Suite 1516 Metairie, LA 70002
How do I make an appointment?
Just pick up the phone and give me a call at (504) 372-0010 or use the “Let’s Connect Today” form below. If I am working with someone when you call, I’ll get back to you as quickly as possible.
We’ll work together to find a good time for our first session. Then when we meet, we’ll set up a standing appointment time that we can always count on.
How long are sessions?
Individual sessions are generally scheduled for one hour. However, there are times when shorter or longer sessions are better, and we will be able to arrange these times as needed.
Couples therapy sessions are scheduled in one-hour or one-and-one-half-hour increments depending on where we are in the process of our work. Family sessions are scheduled for one-and-one-half-hours.
Do you offer online therapy?
How much do you charge?
Fee Schedule:
$120 per 1-Hour Individual Therapy Session
$90 per 45-minute Individual Therapy Session
$60 per 30-minute Check-up Individual Therapy Session
$150 per 1-Hour Couples Therapy Session
$175 per 1.5 Hour Couples Therapy Session
$175 per 1.5 Hour Family Therapy Session
I also offer a brief six-session, goal-focused, individual therapy package for those who want to focus on resolving an urgent problem or make decisions about pressing matters as quickly as possible.
The fee for this approach is $600, payable in full at the time of the first session. If you think this is the right approach for you, let’s talk more when we meet. Unfortunately, this package is not available if we are working with an insurance company to help cover the cost of therapy.
Do you take insurance?
I am currently credentialed with the following insurance carriers: Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Louisiana, Aetna, Cigna, Optum/United, and Gilsbar 360.
I will file these claims for you; and of course, all co-pays are due at the time of each session, unless other arrangements are made up front. I can also provide super-bills for you to file out-of-network claims.
What’s your cancellation policy?
It’s important to make sure that appointment times are available for everyone as often as possible.
So, if you can’t meet for a scheduled session, please make sure to give me at least a 24-hour notice so that I can open the time slot for someone else. Otherwise, the full fee for the session will be charged.
What happens in therapy?
What happens in therapy depends on what brings you to see me. For some, we spend our time together figuring out how to achieve life goals or be a better parent, spouse, or partner. Others are working to overcome addictions or recover from severe bouts of depression, anxiety, or other behavioral health disorders that make daily life difficult or seem impossible.
Together we will map out a specific plan and approach that will meet your individual needs. The goal, of course, is always to find practical and lasting solutions that help you deal with problems healthily and satisfyingly and to live a happier, more fulfilling life.
Do you keep what we discuss in therapy confidential?
Yes, absolutely!
I am ethically and legally bound to respect the content of our sessions and never release any information to any party without your explicit consent.
That said, it is also important to remember that I am also ethically and legally bound to protect you and others from harm, and there could be times when I am required to share information to keep you or others safe.
Let’s plan to talk through this a bit more when we meet.
Why are you different from other therapists?
I’m passionate about your success!
Like many therapists I’ve spent years (36 actually) mastering the skills and techniques necessary to provide you with the best care possible. However, I believe that in the end it’s the client-therapist partnership that makes the difference.
Honest communication, mutual agreement, and tireless focus on your goals within the context of a highly professional relationship are the ingredients of a successful therapy experience.
Do you offer any refreshments while I am there?
